I found me this weekend
Found me in an alien place
Of slashing winds and licking cold
In between the solitary mountains
And the swarming stink of the cities.

I found him this weekend
Found him in an alien place
Of rusty swings and creaking chains
And sweet watery pineapples
Skinned and sliced and dipped in salt.

I found it this weekend
Found it in an alien place
The raw meat of life
Stripped off its sugarcoating
Of food coloring and artificial flavors.

I tasted the raw meat this weekend
Tasted it with the tip of my wet tongue
But after that it was gone
This alien taste
It was gone.
