The day
gravity stopped
the rain hung around us.
Trees leaned, frozen in the wind.
And the birds paused
Drenched as we were, you and I
stood still, so close
to a kiss.
And the city was suddenly so quiet.
Until we entered
the stillness, our lips met.
The rain started falling.
The trees swayed and the birds
were singing.
