The Thief

When you die no one shall remember
your real name, for you have lived
thieving against the goddess of fortune.
Forever you shall flit in the shadows
over the corpses of your past lovers.
When you marry, fate shall torment you
for you shall be cursed to write of lost love.
And your wife shall smile without meaning
and her laughter shall be empty of life
as you eat her inside as the worm you are.
