Without You

When upon one night the moon is gone
never to be seen in the sky above,
your absence to me will have begun
as death to those who choose to love.
For the oceans will stop coursing
and winds and seasons will stand still,
while my heart will pale from mourning
for my blood will weaken so I feel.

With the moon away so will my love,
each day a grieving shall pass my soul.
Come night the earth will face the dark
that stars shall dim upon my fall.
For all at once have I no clue
how my life without you will pursue.
I rather upon the ground rest my cheek
for there my life’s faithful end I seek.
